How to convert hourly pay to annual salary
Multiply the hourly rate by hours worked per week, then multiply that weekly pay by weeks worked per year. This gives a gross annual equivalent for the schedule you enter.
Example
At $25 per hour, 40 hours per week, and 52 weeks per year, weekly pay is $1,000 and annual working hours are 2,080.
Hourly to weekly, biweekly and monthly pay
Weekly pay is hourly rate multiplied by weekly hours. Biweekly pay doubles the weekly amount. Monthly pay divides the annual estimate by 12 so you can compare it with a monthly budget.
What if you work fewer than 52 weeks?
If you enter fewer working weeks, the annual estimate falls because the calculator assumes fewer paid workweeks. This is useful for seasonal schedules, school-year work, contract periods, or any schedule that does not run all year.
Hourly pay vs salary
This calculator compares arithmetic gross pay equivalents only. It does not determine employment classification, overtime eligibility, tax withholding, benefit value, or take-home pay.
